Hubie's Bio

Hubie has proved that his training system consistently works. He has teams set over 40 hitting records while working as a hitting specialist with over 15 different teams!

  • In 1998, the teams overall batting average improved dramatically with each player. In some cases, there was more than a 100 point difference in batting and slugging percentage from the previous year.

Barrington 11 year Old Travel Baseball

  • Winning percentage went up over .200 points
  • Hits per game doubled from 5 to 10 a game
  • Run production doubled from 6 to 12 a game
  • Slugging percentage went up over .200 points

Selma Clover Leafs, Southeastern Indepedent League (2003)

  • Personal consultant for John Henry Williams (Son of Ted Williams)
  • John Henry Williams was player of the month with a .296 batting average in the month of August
  • Josh Wilke hit .345 and finished second in the league in home runs with one week of training. Josh is now with the Boston Red Sox minor league system.

DIVISION 1 COLLEGE ( WOOD BAT)

Grand Forks Channel Cats (Summer 99')

  • The Channel Cats played a 60 game schedule and approximately seven Channel Cat players decided to work within Mike's "Hubie Magic" training system.
  • The top three homerun hitters in the Northwoods League all were Channel Cat players
    (all of which were students under the "Hubie Magic" training system)
  • The teams batting average went from .220 in the first half of the season (worst in the league) to .260 in the second half of the season.
  • The team finished in third place the second half after finishing in last place in the first half of the season.
  • Many of the players that trained under the "Hubie Magic" system are now seriously regarded as potential pro prospects.

DIVISION 2 COLLEGE (WOOD BAT)

St. Joseph College (2002)

  • The team trained under the "Hubie Magic" system for 2 weeks and every player in the line-up hit over 30-150 points higher than the previous year
  • Team batted .281 in the wooden bat league
  • Hit 32 team homeruns

JUNIOR COLLEGE

Oakton Community College, Des Plaines, IL (2004 - 2005)

  • 2004 Team Batting Average (.353), ranked 7th in the nation
  • 2005 Team Batting Average (.379), rank 3rd in the nation
  • 2005 School Record - team runs (351)
  • 2005 School Record - team hits (475)
  • 2005 School Record - team RBI's (301)
  • 2004 School Record - team homeruns (32)
  • 2004 School Record - most successful season (two wins away from College World Series appearance)
  • 2004 School Record - team hitting percentage (.601)
  • Jeff Wertepney - 1st team All-American, ranked 8th in the nation for 2005 with a .468 average.

Morton Jr. College (1999 & 2000)

  • School Record - highest individual batting average - .510 - Vern Hatton
    (top ten in the nation - 99')
  • Highest batting average in the State of Illinois (region 4) - Kevin Koharczk - .476 (00')
  • .340 team batting - the team finished in the top 10 in the nation in hitting for Jr. College baseball
    (this was a 90 point difference from the previous year)
  • This team finished one game out of first place in the Skyway Conference in 1999 while Mike was head coach. The two previous years, they had finished in dead last.
